How to create a professional portfolio
A model portfolio is a collection of professional images and your portfolio must say something about you, agencies don’t want to see pretty images, they want to see attitude, personality and ultimately how versatile you can be. Get a professional model portfolio tailored to your personal needs.
Tailor your portfolio to a specific niche
If we believe your application shows model potential and that you would benefit from our support and possibly help to create and build your very own portfolio then you will normally receive a text message within 72 hours of registration.
At busy times this may take longer. The application will then be passed onto one of our new faces consultants who will contact you in due course to discuss further.
How can Pose help?
Pose operates as a model support service, providing guidance and advice to individuals who are exploring modelling.
At the end of your photoshoot, our Image Consultant will guide you in selecting the strongest images to create your very first professional modelling portfolio. Professional portfolio packages start from £499 and include a minimum of 10 professionally presented images, carefully chosen with expert guidance to ensure you present yourself at the highest possible standard. This also includes 12 months of our support service.
Portfolio packages are only available on the day, so we recommend coming prepared. Images are supplied as part of a professional package and are not sold individually. Additional package options and presentation formats may also be available depending on the option selected.
Our support includes helping you understand how the modelling industry works, what agencies typically look for, and how portfolios are used within the industry. We also offer guidance on different types of representation and freelance pathways.
Support does not end with a photoshoot. Our team remains available to provide advice and guidance as you build confidence and decide how you would like to progress.
What is a digital portfolio?
Your digital portfolio contains your selected images from the photoshoot. If images are purchased on the day, they are provided at the studio on a USB. If images are purchased via a payment plan, access to the images is provided digitally once the agreed payments are completed. USB delivery can also be arranged on request. When you purchase digital images, you are essentially acquiring the copyrights, which are essential for legal use.
For any portfolio you obtain from us, whether it's in digital, printed, or eBook format, the initial step is to secure the rights to use the images. This means that all our packages include digital image rights.
Your images can be stored securely and backed up, for example on your computer or cloud storage. This also makes it easy to share images digitally with agencies or clients when required and safeguarding them from damage or loss, as you can easily download them to your computer. Moreover, digital images provide the flexibility of repeated use, enabling you to email them to agencies or clients for self-promotion. This contrasts with printed copies, where you receive only one version. Additionally, digital images can undergo further retouching, resizing, and cropping as needed by you or your agency.
What is a printed portfolio?
Your printed portfolio consists of a meticulously crafted book containing 10 to 20 A4-sized, fully airbrushed images. This portfolio serves as your visual representation during castings and model agency interviews, showcasing your modelling prowess and your ability to shine in front of the camera.
Similar to your digital images, your printed portfolio is a curated compilation of professional photographs, each intended to convey a unique aspect of your personality and capabilities. To ensure your portfolio accurately reflects your strengths, our team of professional image consultants collaborates with you on the day of the shoot. Together, we select the most compelling shots and ensure a diverse representation of your various looks.
